REWIRE Learning Platform: from Framework to Living Process

As the REWIRE project progresses into its second year, the Learning Platform has emerged not only as a central pillar of our work but also as a dynamic process of co-creation and transformation. What initially began as a structural concept has matured into a vital mechanism for shared growth—shaping how we generate insight, foster collaboration, and stimulate change across sectors and regions.

Throughout the past almost year and a half, various project activities—from expert gatherings to stakeholder events and the delivery of multiple work package outputs—have deepened our collective understanding of what the Learning Platform truly represents. It has become clear that its value lies not only in what it delivers but in how it enables synergy, dialogue, and the emergence of a shared language. This approach ensures both coherence across efforts and openness to innovation and context-specific transitions.

A major boost to this evolving understanding came through the contribution of a recent graduate student, who conducted a focused research study into the common expectations, needs, and essence of the Learning Platform. The outcome pointed decisively toward the need for a strong online component—one that can sustain and amplify interactions, preserve data and practices, and provide continuity between physical engagements.

Building on this, we are now actively looking to integrate a range of functionalities into the platform. These include dynamic, aligned calendars to help coordinate across partners; reflexive monitoring tools to enhance learning-in-action; bi- and multi-lateral data registration mechanisms; and structured event analysis frameworks. Each of these elements supports the platform’s evolution as both a digital and relational ecosystem.

Recent Learning Platform events, as well as the discussions during the REWIRE User Committee meeting, confirmed the importance of engaging our broader stakeholder community. It is clear that the presence and active involvement of users are crucial. Their input not only validates the relevance of our work but ensures that REWIRE’s results are directly applied and translated into meaningful, real-world impact.

As we continue to develop the Learning Platform, we invite all partners and stakeholders to engage with it not just as a tool, but as a shared live (and online) space for shaping the transitions we collectively aim to realize.
