WP1: Mapping the Dutch Agriculture Innovation Network
WP1 takes a comprehensive approach to mapping and enhancing the Dutch agriculture innovation network. By systematically addressing the network’s structure, identifying gaps in governance and collaboration, and providing actionable recommendations, WP1 sets the stage for a more integrated, sustainable, and innovative agricultural ecosystem. Designed as a two-year postdoc project, WP1 not only contributes to the immediate goals of enhancing agricultural innovation but also lays a solid foundation for other work packages and research efforts within the REWIRE project. It is divided into three tasks:
Network construction and analysis lays the groundwork by identifying the network of actors, their interactions, and the evolution of these relationships over time. This task focuses on creating a map of the agriculture innovation network, highlighting key players, their roles and interactions in fostering innovation.
The governance gap analysis, building upon the insights from the previous task, targets the identification and resolution of governance gaps within the ecosystem. By examining collaborative and integrative gaps, this task aims to identify untapped cooperation opportunities and synergies among stakeholders and innovation trajectories, ensuring more efficient problem-solving and innovation processes.
The recommender system development translates the analytical insights from the other two tasks into practical tools for ecosystem facilitators and network actors. This innovative recommender system is designed to suggest alternative collaboration partners, thereby facilitating strategic interventions, and enhancing the innovation capacity within the agricultural sector.
