REWIRE – Leveraging new collaborations for circular agriculture missions

WP3: Ecosystem Intervention and Strategy Development

WP3 is about developing strategies to manage collaboration and changing business models in the agricultural ecosystem (the network of farmers, businesses, and other stakeholders involved in the agricultural process, from production to consumption) while ensuring these plans fit well with the circular agriculture mission. This work package tries to find a balance between creating a shared benefit that helps everyone involved and putting circular agriculture projects into action. By using a method that involves everyone in the design process and uses scientific and practical research, WP3 aims to provide clarity about the different roles of actors in the agricultural ecosystem. This is especially important for complex problems that need solutions to be iterated over time.

We start by figuring out who should be in charge of setting up and managing the ecosystem. This involves creating a clear plan for how the ecosystem should work. We also identify the most important steps needed to get the ecosystem up and running and guide it towards its goals.

We work on improving teamwork among the four main partner types (academia, government, industry, and civil society) in the ecosystem, which is crucial for its success. Moreover, we look at how the organization in charge of the ecosystem can encourage good teamwork among partners who have different and sometimes conflicting interests. The goal is to create a united ecosystem that works together to achieve shared goals.

Through developing joint value propositions, we aim to create value propositions that align the interests of individual organizations while benefiting the whole ecosystem. This involves creating and agreeing on values that all partners in the ecosystem share. This way, we can all work together towards our goal of sustainable farming.
